How we test
Automated tools find part of the problem. Auto-Flow combines automated testing with manual keyboard testing, screen-reader testing, and human review.
- Automated: axe-core in a real browser for web pages; veraPDF and Adobe Acrobat's accessibility checker for PDFs.
- Keyboard: every interactive element reached, operated, and escaped without a mouse, with a visible focus indicator.
- Screen readers: NVDA and JAWS on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS and iOS.
- Human review: the criteria software can't judge, like whether alt text is accurate, headings are meaningful, and error messages actually help.
We don't use accessibility overlays, and we don't tell you a scanner result means you're compliant. When we're done you get a record of what we tested, what we fixed, and what we re-tested. More on why we fix the code instead of adding an overlay.
